KWDT Coordinator, Margaret Nakato is awarded for her contribution to improving the lives women in rural and fisher communities.

Woman Driver of Change 2021

Kajule Betty, a member of KWFDA, was recognised with 14 commendable women as drivers of change building a sustainable tomorrow. Betty was selected by giz out of 89 nominations countrywide in her work to overcome barriers to transform rural and fisher communities through promoting the use of eco friendly and appropriate technologies like bio sand water filters and organic pesticides.

Margarita Lizárraga Medal for the biennium 2020-2021

Margaret was selected in recognition of her success through Katosi Women Development Trust, for organizing women in fishing communities to work together. She empowers them with knowledge, skills, access to training, markets and technology.
